Lambrini Girls (All Cat Rose photos)
By Andy
Earlier in the evening, Lambrini Girls singer/guitarist Phoebe Lunny was relaxing in a local bar, sipping a pint and visiting with friends.
About two hours later, she was absolutely raging on stage with her bandmates at The Crocodile in Seattle on Oct. 5 in front of a raucous, sold-out crowd.
The energy was absolutely palpable on stage and off as the trio locked into their mind-gouging political tunes, and then Lunny became one with the crowd by parting the throng on a few occasions and walking and talking amongst them as the songs quieted for a bit before ramping up again to continue the pummelfest. Bassist Kait and drummer Sam kept the whole deal blasting along as Lunny did her thing, which included diving into the crowd with guitar in hand.
We've been to many rip-roaring punk gigs in our lifetime and this one ranks up there with one of the wildest and most inspiring ones we've witnessed in a while.
Chicago's Edging unleashed its fury in the opening slot and brilliantly set the stage for Brighton, England's melt-your-face, rip-it-up rockers.
As a bonus, Lunny joined forces with Edging on one hammering, unhinged tune as evidenced in the middle set of photos.
Here are Cat Rose's images from the trenches:
