A pitchforkin' good time with Hyper as Hell and friends / Cat Rose photos

Hyper as Hell (All Cat Rose photos)

When we befriended Ron and Rich about 20 years ago in Seattle, they spewed forth about their old punk/metal crossover unit Hyper as Hell from Cleveland.

We were intrigued by their tales of ragin' times on their old stomping grounds. Ron burned us a CD of their tunes years ago and said that someday we may witness them in the flesh, banging out those songs once more. Hyper as Hell resurrected for some recent shows in Cleveland and Akron and then rippingly graced the stage for us Seattle folks this past Friday at Ron's Hillbilly Headbangers Ball Day 1 at Slims Last Chance Saloon.

It was a roaring delight for those in attendance, and the super-stacked bill also featured The Accused A.D., Hickoids, Dreadful Children and Wildcat Rose.

You had some hard-corn tunes, classic punk, ear-piercing blasts and swinging country. Wildcat Rose gets bonus points for their cover of L7's "Fast and Frightening," for sure. Our Cat Rose on the camera fully approved of that tune.

Here's Cat's photos:
