Black Breath. (All Cat Rose photos) |

"Don't eat the tapioca pudding."
As he glanced up at the screen on the wall, those were words of wisdom offered by Black Breath howler Neil McAdams during a break in the action last Saturday night at The Swillery in Bellingham, WA.
Yes, while the FEROCIOUS metal poured forth to the raucous, sweaty and arm-wielding throng, the ultra-gory film "Dead Alive" beamed behind the band. And that tapioca pudding? Well, if you haven't seen the flick, there was squirting blood and a fallen ear inside two bowls of that delicious rice treat that were devoured.
That scene -- and many other GRUESOME ones -- seemed to be the perfect backdrop to Black Breath's tunes.
As for spot-on openers O.S.S. and Bone Sickness, they RAGED with "The Shining" on screen. Another wise call by the projectionist.
Here's Cat Rose's gig photos of our road trip from Seattle, which also featured visits to the Schweinhaus Biergarten, Aslan Brewing Company, Boundary Bay Brewery, Vinostrology Wine Lounge and Merchant, The Ranch Room and Cap Hansen's tavern.
Cat was in the trenches, inside the pit, clicking away for these shots. She was even hit in the head by a flying beer can. Now that's dedication.
