The Sonics in Seattle. (Cat Rose photo) |
We at There's Something Hard in There fully endorse the Sonics' foot-stomping and throat-gouging rock n' roll. Hell, even Andy's dad said he witnessed the band rock the house back in the day in the Puget Sound area.
Well, the Sonics are back in full force with a new album "This is the Sonics," set for release on their own Revox label on March 31. It's been 48 years since they last unleashed a studio album. (The "8" EP in 2010 featured four new songs.)
Here's their new single "Bad Betty," which we grooved on during the band's raucous set in October at the Macefield Music Festival in Ballard, WA.
Today, the band consists of original members Jerry Roslie (organ, piano, lead vocals), Larry Parypa (lead guitar, vocals) and Rob Lind (saxophone, harp, vocals) along with Freddie Dennis (bass, vocals) and Dusty Watson (drums).
